Dr. Moon is a practicing Plastic Surgeon with a distinguished 30 year career as a physician leader, researcher, surgeon, teacher, and medical executive. Dr. Moon served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Cleveland Clinic Florida from 1997 to 2001, and its Chief of Staff from 1991 to 1997. He also served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Moon was Director of the Microsurgery Research Laboratory and Staff Plastic Surgeon at The Cleveland Clinic Ohio prior to transferring to Cleveland Clinic Florida where he initially served as Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Moon was appointed by Governor Bush to the Board of Trustees of Florida Gulf Coast University, and is a former member of the Florida Council of 100. Dr. Moon is a teaching faculty member the plastic surgery residency program at Cleveland Clinic Florida and is Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Moon has transitioned his extensive knowledge in the field of plastic surgery into a role with Applied Medico-legal Solutions Risk Retention Group as the Specialty Medical Director.  Since accepting his position in 2012 Dr. Moon has helped establish Preferred Aesthetics which offers medical malpractice insurance to Plastic Surgeons at truly preferred rates as a result of Dr. Moon’s knowledge within the specialty.  

Dr. Moon received his B.A. degree from Tulane University and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from The University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery training at The University of Hawaii and The Medical University of South Carolina, and his Plastic Surgery training at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Moon also undertook a fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at The University of Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Moon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
