Dr. Moon is a practicing Plastic Surgeon with a distinguished 30 year career as a physician leader, researcher, surgeon, teacher, and medical executive. Dr. Moon served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Cleveland Clinic Florida from 1997 to 2001, and its Chief of Staff from 1991 to 1997. He also served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Moon was Director of the Microsurgery Research Laboratory and Staff Plastic Surgeon at The Cleveland Clinic Ohio prior to transferring to Cleveland Clinic Florida where he initially served as Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Moon was appointed by Governor Bush to the Board of Trustees of Florida Gulf Coast University, and is a former member of the Florida Council of 100. Dr. Moon is a teaching faculty member the plastic surgery residency program at Cleveland Clinic Florida and is Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Moon has transitioned his extensive knowledge in the field of plastic surgery into a role with Applied Medico-legal Solutions Risk Retention Group as the Specialty Medical Director.  Since accepting his position in 2012 Dr. Moon has helped establish Preferred Aesthetics which offers medical malpractice insurance to Plastic Surgeons at truly preferred rates as a result of Dr. Moon’s knowledge within the specialty.  

Dr. Moon received his B.A. degree from Tulane University and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from The University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery training at The University of Hawaii and The Medical University of South Carolina, and his Plastic Surgery training at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Moon also undertook a fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at The University of Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Moon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

 

Joseph Kleinman, M.D.

Dr Joseph Kleinman was born and raised in New York City.  He left the New York area after his undergraduate studies at CUNY to attend Chicago Medical School.  Following medical school graduation in 1987 he moved to Florida to complete his medical studies with a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.  During his time at Mount Sinai Dr Kleinman was named both Chief Fellow and Chief Resident as well as President of the Mount Sinai House Staff Association.  In 1991 Dr Kleinman began his with Boca Radiology Group (BRG).  In 2000, Dr. Kleinman was named Chairman of Department of Radiology at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, , a position which he has held for the last sixteen years.  In addition to his active medical practice, Dr Kleinman has held several leadership positions at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.  He serves on the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Advisory Board, Boca Raton Regional Medical Executive Committee, Physician Advisory Committee, Strategic Steering Committee and Clinical Integration Network Committee. In his role as Chief Operating Officer for Boca Radiology Group, the practice has expanded to provide radiological services to multiple imaging facilities including Diagnostic Centers of America, the Miami Medical Center and Summit Medical Center in Wyoming.  Dr Kleinman actively works with medical students at the FAU Charles E Schmidt College of Medicine  in his roles as Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences, Radiology Clerkship Director and member of the Alpha Omega Alpha selection committee.  

In 2003, the malpractice crisis in South Florida created a very tenuous environment for physicians to practice in the state. Dr. Kleinman's group was amongst the first members of Applied Medico-Legal Solutions. He joined the Medical Advisory Board for AMS and currently serves as the Specialty Medical Director for Radiology. Beginning in 2015, working with the AMS management team, Dr. Kleinman helped launch the Preferred Radiology and Imaging product to further enhance service and cost savings to member Radiologists.

 

Brian Cohen, M.D.

Specialty Medical Director Preferred Anesthesia and Pain Management

Dr. Brian Cohen is a practicing anesthesiologist and the Administrative Chief of Miami Anesthesia Services at The Miami Medical Center.  Dr. Cohen has over ten years of clinical anesthesia experience, along with leadership, teaching and administrative expertise.  As the Specialty Medical Director for the Preferred Anesthesia and Pain program at AMS, Dr. Cohen uses his training and experience to help maintain the vision of offering a premier product to a high quality, risk controlled population of his anesthesia specialty. 

Dr. Cohen completed his anesthesia residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Barnes-Jewish Hospital.  He then moved to Houston, Texas, and worked at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, as part of the Greater Houston Anesthesiology group.  From Houston, Dr. Cohen settled in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he joined a private practice group at Holy Cross Hospital.  In this practice, he led multiple initiatives with a multidisciplinary approach and a focus on patient safety and improved outcomes.   His work at the local level allowed him to help develop and lead educational programs on the national level with the company, Mednax. 

Dr. Cohen’s passion for the continuous improvement in perioperative medicine and pain control lead him to his current anesthesia position.  He accepted the unique opportunity to start an anesthesia group for a new physician owned surgical hospital in Miami, Florida.  This venture allowed him to create a group that embraces every aspect of what quality medicine and anesthesia should be, in a hospital that exemplifies individualized service and safety.  His experience and participation in the creation and design of the hospital itself, provided him with a truly holistic and all-access view into the current medical landscape.
